    Background & context

    Das Cannone da 47/32 war eine Lizenzfertigung des österreichischen Böhler-Geschützes und tauchte in der italienischen Armee überall auf: als Infanteriegeschütz, als Panzerabwehrkanone, als Bordkanone im Panzer M14/41 und auf Selbstfahrlafetten. Bei der Truppe hieß es Elefantino, Elefantchen. Viele Besatzungen nahmen die Räder ab, damit das Geschütz flacher im Gelände lag - in Nordafrika wie in Russland ein Überlebensvorteil.

    On the tabletop

    With the regular Italian army in Bolt Action, the Elefantino is above all an anti-tank gun for the early and middle years of the war. With HEAT rounds it tackles the vehicles of that period, and against infantry it serves as an infantry gun. Its low build makes it easy to hide behind walls and hedges, and many crews even removed the wheels for that reason. Three crew figures are included, and the same gun armed the M14/41 tank.
