    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The IS-2 was developed as a replacement for the older KV heavy tank, combining thick frontal armor with a 122mm gun. Warlord Games describes it as a breakthrough tank whose heavy high-explosive shells were intended for enemy positions and fortifications. Despite its Soviet heavy tank classification, its weight was comparable to the German Panther. On the tabletop, it is classified as a Soviet heavy tank with high resilience and a strong anti-tank role.
