    Product details

    Background & context

The IS-2 was developed as a replacement for the older KV heavy tank, combining thick frontal armor with a 122mm gun. Warlord Games describes it as a breakthrough tank whose heavy high-explosive shells were intended for enemy positions and fortifications. Despite its Soviet heavy tank classification, its weight was comparable to the German Panther. On the tabletop, it is classified as a Soviet heavy tank with high resilience and a strong anti-tank role.

    On the tabletop

The IS-2 is a heavy Soviet breakthrough tank and takes the anti-tank role in a Bolt Action armoured platoon. Its 122 mm gun penetrates tanks and breaks open fortified positions with high-explosive shells, while its thick frontal armour makes it hard to stop. The six infantry figures on the included sprue form a squad with submachine guns that rides on the tank. You can also add it to Polish lists.
