Product details

Background & context

Every Highland regiment carried its colours and pipers into battle. The command group with standard bearers and pipers maintained the morale of the men in the fiercest combat and gave the regiment its distinctive identity.

On the tabletop

An officer, a piper and two standard bearers in the charge lead a Highland regiment of your British Crimean army in Black Powder. They share the same charging pose as their men, so you place them in the centre of your attacking line. A British battalion carried two flags, the King's Colour and the Regimental Colour, and the Highlanders added the bagpipes, which drove the companies forward at the Alma and at Balaklava.
