    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Eastern Front and the house-to-house fighting for Stalingrad demanded everything from German soldiers, transforming unproven recruits into experienced fighters within a few weeks. These veterans were characterized by their initiative, the use of captured weapons, and a focus on close-quarters combat. Assault engineer squads employed flamethrowers and explosives, military police secured rear areas, and MG teams formed the backbone of every German infantry unit. The set is primarily designed for the mid-war period of 1941-43, thus covering the battles in Russia and Stalingrad.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The German Veteran Infantry Platoon offers maximum deployment flexibility: A platoon leader with staff, regular army infantry squads with LMG and SMG options, and assault engineer squads with flamethrowers and rifle grenade launchers can be assembled, as well as anti-tank and MG teams. The included 60mm bases allow for the creation of heavy MG teams directly from the set. In Bolt Action, veteran units benefit from better morale and can withstand even heavy fire - ideal as a solid core for a German army on any front.
