Product details

Background & context

The French and Indian War of 1754 to 1763 was the North American theatre of the Seven Years' War. France and Britain, each with their Native American allies, fought over the Ohio Valley and the borderlands between their colonies. After General Edward Braddock's defeat on the Monongahela in 1755, war parties raided settlements in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia for years. In the Peace of Paris of 1763 France lost its mainland possessions in North America.

On the tabletop

The three pieces already tell a story on the table: militia defend the intact settler's house, while the ruin shows that a raid has already struck one farmstead. The bridge carries the only road by which reinforcements arrive or raiders withdraw. In Black Powder or skirmish rules for the Seven Years' War, the pack combines with the log cabin and houses from the North American range into a frontier settlement.
