In den Wäldern zwischen Hudson und Ohio entschied kein Befehl, sondern Überzeugung: Ein Kriegshäuptling führte nur so lange, wie die Krieger ihm folgen wollten, und ein Zug brach ab, wenn der Rückhalt fehlte. Beide Kolonialmächte warben deshalb unablässig um Stämme wie Mohawk, Huronen und Abenaki, mit Geschenken, Handelswaren und Verträgen. Wer diese Bündnisse hielt, gewann Aufklärer und Überfalltrupps, die jeden Nachschubweg des Gegners unsicher machten.

On the tabletop

These four character figures represent chiefs and respected warriors around whom your woodland war bands gather in the French and Indian War in Black Powder. As leaders they give your groups their orders, since historically warriors followed a chief only as long as he convinced them. They suit allies of either colonial power, whether Mohawk, Huron or Abenaki, who made the enemy's supply routes unsafe as scouts and raiding parties.
