    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    In the American Revolutionary War, artillery was often more difficult to employ than on European battlefields due to cost, availability, transport, and terrain. Nevertheless, light and medium guns played an important supporting role in many field battles. British Royal Artillery and Continental artillerists could achieve significant effects with round shot at range and canister at close quarters. The included mounted commanders expand the kit with command figures for both sides of the conflict.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The set provides field artillery and army commanders for the American War of Independence. In Black Powder, the artillery supports line infantry and militia with firepower, while the mounted commanders serve as leadership elements. In Sharp Practice, the contents can represent smaller artillery positions, scenario objectives, or command situations. The dual use for British Royal Artillery and Continental artillerists makes the set suitable for both sides of the conflict.
