    Background & context

    Die Fallschirmjäger-Divisionen der zweiten Kriegshälfte hatten mit Luftlandung nur noch den Namen gemein. Sie kämpften als Eliteinfanterie in den Trümmern von Monte Cassino, in der Normandie und in den Ardennen, und dafür brauchten sie eigene Panzerjägerabteilungen. Die 7,5cm Pak 40 war dort das Standardrohr - schwer zu verlegen, aber auf kurze Entfernung jedem alliierten Panzer gewachsen.

    On the tabletop

    Four Fallschirmjäger crew this 7.5 cm Pak 40, which serves as a heavy anti-tank gun in the artillery platoon in Bolt Action. At normal combat ranges it can penetrate almost any Allied armour, so it suits armies from Monte Cassino through Normandy to the Ardennes. A half-track tows it when it has to move, otherwise it stays in cover on a road or flank. Nearby riflemen shield the crew from enemy infantry.
