Hintergrund & Einordnung

Following their early airborne operations, paratroopers were frequently deployed as strong ground infantry units later in the war. Their operations in Crete, Italy, the Ardennes, and on the Eastern Front are particularly well-known. A Starter Army bundles infantry, support weapons, and vehicles to represent typical combat formations on the tabletop. The combination of infantrymen, special teams, an anti-tank gun, a half-track, and an assault gun is suitable for late-war scenarios.

The Starter Army represents a late war Fallschirmjäger battle group with infantry, special teams, anti-tank, half-track, and assault gun. On the tabletop, it can hold objectives with veteran infantry, engage vehicles, and deploy heavier firepower with the StuG and PaK 40. In Bolt Action and Chain of Command, it is suitable as a complete core for late German Fallschirmjäger.
