Background & context

Grant hatte vor dem Krieg als Zivilist wenig Glück und im Feld ein einziges Prinzip: weiterdrücken, auch nach einem schlechten Tag. Genau damit zermürbte er ab 1864 Lees Armee, die jeden Verlust schlechter ersetzen konnte als er. Meade führte die Potomac-Armee bei Gettysburg und gewann dort die Schlacht, die den Krieg kippte - blieb danach aber im Schatten Grants, der das Kommando über sämtliche Unionsarmeen übernahm.

On the tabletop

Grant and Meade on horseback stand with a standard bearer at the head of your Union army in Epic Battles and Black Powder. Meade leads the Army of the Potomac at Gettysburg, while Grant takes overall command of all Union armies from 1864 and wears down Lee's army with relentless pressure. The standard bearer marks your headquarters above the brigades. The figures are metal.
