The Cromwell Cruiser Tank was a fast British cruiser tank, used from Normandy onwards, with a 75mm gun and good off-road capability. The plastic kit includes a tank with assembly instructions, damage markers, stat cards, and decals for British, Canadian, and Polish units.

Background & context

According to the manufacturer, the Cromwell first saw combat in Normandy. With its 75mm gun and good cross-country mobility, it was a match for the Panzer IV, but remained inferior to the heavier German tanks, the Tiger and Panther. It was used, among others, by the 7th Armoured Division as well as in armored reconnaissance regiments of the Guards and the 11th Armoured Division. The 6th Airborne Armoured Recce Regiment also took over some Cromwells in Normandy and kept them until the fighting in the Ardennes. A typical troop consisted of three Cromwells and one Sherman Firefly.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the Cromwell is a fast medium tank whose 75 mm gun fires an improved high-explosive round. It fits armoured platoons from Britain, Canada and Poland from Normandy onwards and is a match for a Panzer IV, while against Panthers and Tigers you rely on mobility. A British troop usually had three Cromwells and a Sherman Firefly, and that is how you can build yours. Its Achtung Panzer! stats are in that game's rulebook.
