Product details

Background & context

The Scots Greys were a British dragoon regiment assigned to the Heavy Brigade under Brigadier-General Sir James Scarlett during the Crimean War. At the Battle of Balaklava on October 25, 1854, the Heavy Brigade attacked a significantly larger Russian cavalry force. This set depicts individual mounted Scots Greys figures, not a complete regiment.

On the tabletop

With three mounted metal figures you build up a unit of the Scots Greys, the 2nd Dragoons on their grey horses. In Black Powder they are heavy cavalry for the closed charge, held back for a counter-attack against enemy horsemen. Several packs together with the matching command group make a larger regiment. As part of the Heavy Brigade, you can recreate the uphill charge at Balaclava against a far larger Russian cavalry force.
