Product details

Background & context

British line infantry was one of the defining branches of the British army in the Crimean War from 1853 to 1856. Warlord assigns the set to The Crimean War 1853-1856 series and lists it as a 28mm metal regiment. British troops fought in this campaign at the Alma, Inkerman, and during the Siege of Sevastopol, among other places. The red line regiments represent classic Victorian infantry deployment, bridging old-fashioned linear warfare and the demands of modern combat.

On the tabletop

More than fifty British line regiments served in the Crimea from 1854 to 1856, still in the red coat but already armed with the Minie rifle. For Black Powder you get 20 plastic figures, four metal command figures, a full-colour flag sheet and bases. In line the unit fires at ranges a smoothbore musket cannot reach and keeps Russian attacks at a distance. With it you can recreate the Alma, Inkerman or the fighting before Sevastopol.
