    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Heavy Brigade of the British Army was one of the best-known cavalry formations during the Crimean War. At Balaklava, it was led by General Sir James Yorke Scarlett and attacked a larger Russian cavalry force. The deployment of the heavy cavalry was distinctly different from the Charge of the Light Brigade, which became famous later the same day. Heavy Dragoons thus stand for the powerful, disciplined charge of British cavalry in the mid-19th century.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Heavy Dragoons in the game are heavy cavalry for powerful charges and exploiting enemy weaknesses. In Black Powder, they are particularly suitable for open flanks, counterattacks, and scenarios involving the Heavy Brigade in the Crimean War. The three-figure blister pack complements larger cavalry formations or serves as a compact mounted unit in Sharp Practice.
