Product details

Background & context

The British army's three Guards regiments, the Grenadier, Coldstream and Scots Fusilier Guards, each sent a battalion to the Crimea in 1854, where they fought together as the Guards Brigade under the Duke of Cambridge. At the Alma they climbed the slope to the Great Redoubt under Russian fire. At Inkerman they defended the Sandbag Battery in thick fog against many times their number. Combat and the winter before Sevastopol tore deep holes in the brigade.

On the tabletop

In Black Powder, Guards infantry goes where your British line simply must not break. The pack gives you the rank and file of a full regiment plus command, so you can field the Grenadier, Coldstream or Scots Fusilier Guards as one formed unit next to your line regiments. Use them to refight the Alma or Inkerman. Flags and bases are not included; you print the flags yourself.
