Product details

Background & context

The British Foot Guards were among the most prestigious infantry formations in the British Army. During the Crimean War, the Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards, and Scots Fusilier Guards fielded several battalions and were at the heart of important engagements. Inkerman, in particular, became a defining battlefield for the Foot Guards, as isolated British positions were held against heavy Russian pressure. Command groups make these elite formations historically and visually clearly recognizable on the tabletop.

On the tabletop

Five metal command figures provide the leadership for your Guards infantry in the Crimean War. At Inkerman the Grenadier Guards were the only regiment to carry their colours into battle, and a fight of its own broke out around them. In Black Powder this gives a Guards unit the point it rallies on and defends. Flags and bases are not included, but you can print the flags yourself.
