    Product details

    Background & context

Officers in the American Civil War often led their units close to the front, especially during attacks and movements. Advancing in columns or lines demanded clear commands to maintain order and pace. Mounted officers could coordinate movements, while officers on foot maintained a direct connection to the unit. These poses suit a troop actively moving towards the enemy.

    On the tabletop

Without officers no orders reach the troops in Black Powder, because the chain of command runs through them from the general downwards. This set provides two Confederate officers in metal for the American Civil War, one mounted and one on foot. Both are advancing as if alongside a marching column. Use the rider as a brigade commander and place the officer on foot with a single regiment that is on the move.
