The Char B1 bis from Warlord Games is a 28mm/1:56 scale plastic kit for Bolt Action. The kit can be built as a French or German tank and includes crew, stat cards, damage markers, and decals.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Char B1 bis was a further development of the French Char B1, featuring stronger armor and an APX4 turret cannon of the 47mm SA 35 type. Additionally, it was equipped with a 75mm howitzer in the hull. In 1940, it was among the most powerful tanks in the Battle of France, though it was slow and consumed a lot of fuel. After the Fall of France, the German Wehrmacht took over numerous vehicles as Panzerkampfwagen B-2 740(f), some of which were converted into flamethrower tanks.

Einsatz im Spiel

In the game, the Char B1 bis is a heavily armored early tank for French lists or as a German captured vehicle. It offers high resilience and multiple weapons but is slow and expensive. Against light tanks, infantry, and mission pressure, it can form a strong anchor. In Bolt Action, Achtung Panzer!, and Chain of Command, it fits particularly well into scenarios of the Western Front campaign and early captured tank deployments.
