Product details

Background & context

The Résistance was not a unified formation but a patchwork of Maquis groups, communist cells and Free French networks. Women helped carry it: they smuggled messages and weapons in shopping baskets, guided downed pilots over the Pyrenees and later took up the rifle themselves. Because the occupiers long considered women harmless, they got through checkpoints where men failed, an advantage that made many operations possible in the first place.

On the tabletop

The up to 30 women of the Resistance carry rifles, Stens, Thompsons, grease guns, MP 38/40s or pistols. On the table they portray the women who smuggled weapons and messages, guided escapers across the border and finally fought themselves. As a group of their own or mixed with the male partisans of the range, they carry out ambushes, escape missions and raids. Extra heads allow other theatres.
