Background & context

Wer in Nordamerika marschierte, verlor als Erstes die Uniform. Die Röcke wurden gekürzt, Borten abgetrennt, Dreispitze zu schlichten Feldmützen zurechtgeschnitten, dazu kamen indianische Beinlinge gegen Dornen und Nässe. Offiziere klagten über den Verfall des Erscheinungsbildes, doch keine Kolonne kam mit Vorschriftskleidung durch die Wälder am Hudson. Genau dieser abgetragene Zustand prägte das Bild der britischen Armee zwischen 1757 und 1760.

On the tabletop

After weeks in the backcountry, British line troops in North America looked very different from the parade ground: shortened coats, caps instead of tricornes, leggings against thorns and wet. These eight metal figures show that state during the years 1757 to 1760. In Black Powder they reinforce your line infantry for scenarios in the forests along the Hudson. Field them as a small unit of their own or together with other redcoats.
