Background & context

Die britische schwere Kavallerie trug auf der Iberischen Halbinsel eine Uniform, die bis etwa 1812 gültig blieb: Schulterflügel und waagerechte Schnurbesätze auf der Brust. Die King's German Legion, aus Resten der hannoverschen Armee gebildet, ritt an ihrer Seite und unterschied sich durch spitze Ärmelaufschläge mit Litzenwinkeln. Beide Reitergattungen dienten Wellington als Stoßkraft und als bewegliche Reserve hinter der Linie.

On the tabletop

These twelve heavy dragoons wear the uniform in which British cavalry rode in the Peninsula up to 1812. With the second set of arms you build them as troopers of the King's German Legion, recognisable by their pointed cuffs. In Wellington's army you use them as striking power against shaken units or as a mobile reserve behind the line. The officer wears a bicorne or a cylindrical shako, and the scabbard comes with or without a sabretache.
