Background & context

Die Highland-Regimenter waren die auffälligsten Verbände der britischen Armee: Feather Bonnet, Kilt und ein eigener Piper, der im Gefecht spielte, während andere Bataillone nur Trommeln hatten. Ihre Flankenkompanien machten dieselbe Arbeit wie überall, Grenadiere als Stoßtrupp und Leichte als Plänkler. Bei Quatre Bras und Waterloo standen die schottischen Bataillone an Stellen, an denen es teuer wurde. Im Feld trugen Offiziere häufig Hosen statt Kilt, was sich an den Figuren wiederfindet.

On the tabletop

Grenadiers and the light company stand on the wings of a Scottish battalion, and these 60 Highlanders take on exactly those roles. The advancing figures lead the assault as grenadiers, while the kneeling and standing firing men act as skirmishers ahead of the line. Pipers, drummers and officers in trousers lead both companies. Together with the centre companies you complete the battalion for games at Quatre Bras and Waterloo.
