Background & context

Between 1808 and 1814 the British army in the Iberian Peninsula grew into the best instrument London possessed in this war. Moore and Craufurd shaped it early on, and under Wellesley it then carried the names Talavera, Salamanca, Vitoria and Badajoz. The whole effort rested on the regiments of foot in red, supported by Portuguese, Spanish and German allies. Their trademark was the two-deep line, thinner than any continental formation and still steady enough for the firefight.

On the tabletop

Redcoats of the foot regiments formed the core of the British army on the Iberian Peninsula between 1808 and 1814. In Black Powder the 20 plastic figures and four metal command figures make a battalion that stands in a two-deep line and fights the firefight against the French. Ten full-colour flags are included. You can play scenarios such as Talavera, Salamanca or Vitoria with Portuguese, Spanish and German allies at your side.
