Product details

Background & context

The Commandos were an all-volunteer force from the very first hour. After the retreat from France in 1940, Churchill had men recruited from every arm of service, from the Army and the Navy alike, wherever someone would put himself forward for a suicide mission. The Inter-Allied Commando Regiment became home to exiled soldiers from Belgium, Poland, the Netherlands and other occupied countries. They were deployed in every size between half a section and a whole assault division.

On the tabletop

Commandos fought from 1940 as an all-volunteer force in Europe, Burma and Africa, most famously in the raid on St Nazaire. In Bolt Action the 30 figures let you field British Army Commandos or volunteers of the Inter-Allied regiment from Belgium, Poland and the Netherlands. Rifles, pistols and submachine guns carry the assault at close range, the Vickers K adds firepower and the PIAT deals with vehicles. The 2-inch mortar fires in an arc over cover.
