Background & context

Britische Offiziere kamen nach Nordamerika mit dem Drillbuch europäischer Feldschlachten und lernten ihr Handwerk dort noch einmal neu. Nach Braddocks Katastrophe am Monongahela 1755 stellte die Armee leichte Kompanien auf, kürzte Röcke und Musketen und nahm Ranger sowie indianische Kundschafter in Dienst. Männer wie Wolfe und Amherst führten am Ende Mischverbände aus Linieninfanterie, Provinzmiliz und Waldläufern - jede Truppe mit eigener Gangart, alle unter einem Kommando.

On the tabletop

One mounted and two dismounted characters lead your British army in the French and Indian War in Black Powder. Use them as commanders over your brigades of redcoats, provincials and rangers, each with its own way of fighting. After Braddock's defeat on the Monongahela in 1755 the British army learned to fight with light companies, rangers and native scouts, and these figures lead exactly such mixed forces. All three are metal.
