This plastic set provides 30 figures with numerous head and weapon options - including British infantry, Sikh and Punjabi soldiers, and Scottish Highlanders.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

The British 8th Army emerged from the Western Desert Force in 1941 and was the central Allied formation in North Africa. Its ranks were filled with soldiers from across the Commonwealth - Britons, Australians, New Zealanders, Indians, and South Africans fought side by side against the German Afrika Korps and the Italians. After the legendary battles at El Alamein and Tobruk, the 8th Army pursued the Axis powers through Tunisia and into Italy. Under the desert sun, biting dust, and freezing nights, it earned the nickname 'Desert Rats,' originally the moniker of the 7th Armoured Division.

Einsatz im Spiel

The platoon forms the flexible backbone of a British Commonwealth army in Bolt Action. The diverse weapon options allow the construction of regular infantry squads as well as support squads with Bren LMG or Boys anti-tank rifle. Thanks to the optional heads, not only British units but also Indian formations and Scottish Highlanders can be represented - ideal for North Africa scenarios from Early to Mid War as well as the subsequent Italian campaign.
