    Background & context

    Der Ordnance QF 25 pounder löste ab 1940 gleich zwei Waffen ab: die 18-Pfünder-Kanone und die 4,5-Zoll-Haubitze des Ersten Weltkriegs. Herausgekommen ist eine Haubitzkanone auf drehbarem Bodenteller, die in Sekunden in jede Richtung schwenkte, was in der Wüste überlebenswichtig war. Gezogen wurde sie von der Quad-Zugmaschine samt Protze, die Munition und Gerät mitführte. In manchen Armeen stand der 25-Pfünder noch in den Achtzigern im Dienst.

    On the tabletop

    In Bolt Action the 25 pounder counts as a light artillery gun with a crew of three. The British used it in every theatre of the war, so it suits your force in the desert as well as in Italy or north-west Europe. From the back of your deployment it fires in a high arc at enemies in cover. The included limber shows the gun on the move behind a Quad tractor, and the oval MDF base lets you mount gun and crew together as a small scene.
