Hintergrund & Einordnung

The German infantrymen of the early war years formed the backbone of the Wehrmacht and made the Blitzkrieg tactics possible. Well-trained, equipped with modern infantry weapons, and encouraged to make independent decisions, they overran Poland, the Benelux countries, France, and advanced deep into the Soviet Union. Their classic appearance, with marching boots, unadorned steel helmet, and Karabiner 98K, still shapes the image of the German Landser of the early war period from 1939-41.

Einsatz im Spiel

The platoon forms the core of an early German army in Bolt Action. Thanks to the diverse weapon options, classic rifle squads with Kar 98k and MG34 support can be fielded, as can SMG-heavy assault squads or a sniper option. The models are suitable for early-war scenarios in Poland, France, and on the early Eastern Front - and can be expanded into a complete Blitzkrieg army with appropriate vehicles and support units.
