Product details

Background & context

Between the news from Isandlwana and the first attack on 22 January 1879, the Rorke's Drift garrison had only a few hours. Soldiers, patients and men of the Natal Native Contingent hauled in whatever the depot held and stacked crates and sacks side by side wherever there was room. There was no time for tidy field engineering. The resulting breastwork still held until the next morning, when the Zulus drew off.

On the tabletop

Where pure crate walls meet sack banks, these four mixed pieces close the gap. Use them as a transition between the two barricade types, or build a breastwork from them alone that clearly shows haste and short supplies. In Black Powder, British line infantry holds the position behind them against charging Zulus in the Anglo-Zulu War. The resin parts come unpainted and need assembly.
