    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    British Redcoats of the American Revolutionary War were part of a small, well-trained professional army spread across a growing empire. In North America, they had to learn from the experiences of the French and Indian War and adopt more flexible combat formations. Line infantry, light companies, and grenadiers were used for different tasks. Their fire discipline and bayonet charge made British infantry a dangerous opponent despite their limited numbers.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The British Infantry Regiment creates regular British infantry for the American War of Independence. In Black Powder, it represents a line formation with a light infantry option, combining fire discipline and bayonet charges. In Sharp Practice, the light infantry can be used as mobile skirmishers, while the musketeers form the core of small fighting units. The set is particularly suitable for British armies from 1775 to 1783.
