Background & context

Confederate generals often led their units in mobile but logistically strained campaigns. Staffs transmitted orders, collected reports, and maintained contact with brigades and divisions. Mounted command groups were a central element of leadership on large battlefields. On the game table, such figures represent the higher command level of a Confederate force.

On the tabletop

A Confederate general with three mounted staff officers leads your Southern army in Black Powder. Field the general as the commander of a brigade or division who gives his regiments their orders, since little happens in Black Powder without officers. Historically Confederate commanders worked with small staffs and stayed close to the action, which meant quick decisions but also heavy losses among the generals. All four figures are metal.
