This box builds 30 Grenadiers of the 5th Regiment of Foot for the early part of the American War of Independence. The hard plastic miniatures wear bearskin caps and carry Brown Bess muskets and can be posed advancing, firing and loading.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

The 5th Regiment of Foot was transferred to Boston in late 1774 and was involved in the battles of Lexington, Concord, and Breed's Hill at the beginning of the American Revolutionary War. Grenadier companies consisted of particularly strong and disciplined soldiers who were used for spearhead attacks and shock troop duties. The distinctive bearskin caps and Brown Bess muskets characterized the appearance of British Grenadiers of that period. This set depicts these elite infantry for engagements in 1775.

Einsatz im Spiel

The 5th Foot Grenadiers are an elite infantry option for early AWI scenarios. In Black Powder, they form a strong assault formation that can be used against redoubts, line infantry, or militia positions. In Sharp Practice, they are suitable as high-quality regular troops with a clear focus on discipline and close-combat effectiveness. Due to their close association with 1775, they are particularly well-suited for engagements around Boston, Lexington/Concord, and Breed's Hill.
