    The M4A2(76)W was mainly supplied to the Soviet Union via Lend-Lease and was an important late-war Sherman variant.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The M4A2(76)W Sherman played only a minor role in the West, as a large part of its production was delivered to the Soviet Union. Rubicon states that 1,594 M4A2(76)W tanks were built between May and December 1944, after which the HVSS variant followed. Soviet crews called the M4 "Emcha," derived from the similarity of the numeral 4 to the Cyrillic letter Che. In total, according to Rubicon, the USSR received 4,102 M4A2 Shermans, of which 2,095 had 76mm cannons. In addition to the Soviet Union, Great Britain, New Zealand, Poland, and Free French forces also used the M4A2.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    In the game, the M4A2(76)W Sherman is an armored combat unit for direct fire support and movement towards mission objectives. The tank can accompany infantry, engage enemy vehicles, and exert pressure on key terrain sections. In Bolt Action / Achtung Panzer! / Chain of Command, it is a flexible building block for tank or combined arms groups.
