    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The GMC CCKW-353 was a 2.5-ton 6x6 truck of the US Army and was widely used in World War II. It became known as the Deuce and a Half and as the backbone of the Red Ball Express, which supplied the Allied armies after the Normandy landings. The CCKW family included short and long wheelbases, as well as special variants such as tanker and radio vehicles. By the end of production in 1945, 562,750 vehicles of all variants had been built.
