    The Studebaker US6 was the truck that kept the Red Army rolling. 34 parts on 2 sprues build the long wheelbase with or without winch, and cab and canvas top are each moulded in one piece.

    Background & context

    Studebaker built the US6 almost exclusively for export: under Lend-Lease the vehicles went in large numbers to the Soviet Union, where they moved ammunition, rations and entire rifle companies. Their all-wheel drive made them more useful on Russian roads than much of what domestic production offered. As prime movers they had divisional artillery and rocket launchers hitched up behind them. The U3 and U4 variants share the long wheelbase and differ mainly in the winch.

    On the tabletop

    Under Lend-Lease the Studebaker US6 reached the Soviet Union in large numbers and gave the Red Army its mobility. For your Soviet or American force it carries infantry and supplies or tows guns and rocket launchers. The kit shows the long wheelbase, either as the U3 without a winch or the U4 with one. Cab and canopy are each cast in one piece, the rear tarpaulin and tailgate can be open or closed, and a driver is included.
