    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Opel Blitz 3-tonner (SdKfz 305) was the most-produced German military vehicle of World War II - around 70,000 units of the 4x2 version left the factories between April 1937 and July 1944. It served as a standard truck, ambulance, radio and telephone vehicle, fire engine, tanker, and emergency vehicle. Some units were subsequently fitted with anti-aircraft guns to provide protection against low-flying aircraft. Whether in North Africa, on the Eastern Front, or in Western Europe, the Opel Blitz was indispensable in every theater of war.
