    Beschreibung

    This Rubicon plastic kit builds a mid- or late-production M5A1 Stuart VI or a turretless M5A1 Recce/Kangaroo variant. Included are 53 parts on 2 sprues with MG options, open hatches, spare wheel, hedgerow cutter, and decals for US and Allied markings.

    The M5A1 was produced from early 1943 and served with US, Commonwealth, and Allied forces as a light tank, reconnaissance, and security vehicle. The model does not include the T3 trailer or terrain from example images.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The M5A1 Stuart was essentially an M5 with the larger M3A3 turret; production began in early 1943, and a total of 6,810 vehicles were built. By June 1944, the US Army had almost completely switched to the M5A1, and the US Marine Corps also used it. In Northwest Europe, the M5A1 was primarily used for reconnaissance and security tasks, but in the Pacific, it continued to serve as a gun tank. Great Britain, Canada, Poland, France, Yugoslav partisans, and, after the war, China also used the type; in British, Canadian, and Polish service, it was known as the Stuart VI.

    In the game, the M5A1 Stuart / M5A1 Recce is suitable for rapid flanking maneuvers, reconnaissance, and flexible fire support. Light tanks and scout vehicles should utilize their mobility rather than engaging in prolonged frontal duels. In Bolt Action / Achtung Panzer! / Chain of Command, the model complements infantry and heavier vehicles with its speed, mission pressure, and responsiveness. The tags follow the buildable variants and the historical deployment profile.
