Product details

Background & context

Watchtowers of timber and bamboo stood at many camps, airfields and plantations during the Pacific War of 1941-1945. They could be put up quickly with simple tools and local materials. From the top, sentries could watch paths, riverbanks and the edge of the jungle over grass and undergrowth. Similar structures had long served as lookouts over fields and villages in Southeast Asia and Oceania.

On the tabletop

Two towers are enough to cover the corners of a camp or the approach to a village. The raised post gives you a view over thick vegetation where little can be seen from the ground. For attackers hoping to slip into the camp unseen, the towers become the first target. Combine them with further buildings to create a base you can assault from several sides.
