Product details

Background & context

Omaha was the only landing sector with a continuous bluff at the back of the beach, and the defenders looked down on every metre of sand. On top of that, the current carried the first wave out of its sectors, and a large share of the amphibious tanks foundered far off the coast. Only when destroyers came in close under the shore and took the bunkers apart with direct fire did the attack get moving at all.

On the tabletop

This 1:72 diorama set lets you build a scene from the Omaha Beach landing of June 1944. The LCVP landing craft comes with three boat crew figures and beach obstacles, joined by an M4 Sherman and 28 American infantry figures. The decal sheet offers five marking options for the vehicles. On your base the boat grounds at the waterline, the soldiers take cover among the obstacles and the Sherman climbs up the sand. Paints, glue and brushes are not included.
