Background & context

Factory grounds, railway yards and back courtyards in Stalingrad were often surrounded by masonry walls. In the street fighting such walls became lines where both sides faced each other, sometimes separated by no more than the width of a street. Sappers blew breaches to reach courtyards without crossing open roads, and snipers used gaps in the brickwork as loopholes.

On the tabletop

At 4.5 cm tall these walls cut off your opponent's view, so you can move troops behind them unseen. Run them around a yard or a factory compound and make the gate the only open passage. Whether it stands open or closed is your call as the game goes on. With 80 cm of total length you can set the sections up as alleys, corners or enclosed yards.
