Product details

Background & context

The Univermag was a large department store on the Square of the Fallen Fighters in central Stalingrad. In the winter of 1942/43 the staff of the encircled 6th Army set up its headquarters in the basement. It was there that Field Marshal Friedrich Paulus went into Soviet captivity at the end of January 1943, shortly before the fighting in the pocket ended.

On the tabletop

Its long facade closes off one whole side of a square and shelters your squads behind it. From the balcony you overlook the open ground in front, while the floors hold more of your infantry. Together with the separately available Univermag Left and Univermag Right you assemble the complete department store. The result is a large focal point for games set in the centre of Stalingrad.
