The right-hand part of a ruined Stalingrad school and, at three storeys, the tallest section of the building. It comes factory-painted with accessible rooms and joins the left half to form the complete structure.

Background & context

Stalingrad grew quickly in the 1930s, and alongside the new works came housing districts, schools and hospitals for workers' families. In summer 1942 only part of the civilian population was taken across the Volga, and many people lived through the fighting in cellars and dugouts. Taller buildings such as schools became observation posts and command posts in this situation.

On the tabletop

On the third floor your riflemen sit 15 cm above the table and look out over lower ruins. That height pays off for observers, snipers or a machine gun covering wide parts of the field. Its almost square footprint makes the building easy to place on a street corner. Add the separately available School Left with balcony and the whole school stands on your table.
