Description

A broad town house with shutters and a pitched roof, the one with the largest footprint among the townhouses of this Normandy range, at 15 mm scale (1:100). The printed HDF parts lift off floor by floor.

Background & context

Larger houses belonging to notaries, doctors or merchants lined the main streets of Normandy market towns. Their thick walls and many rooms made them sought after by both sides in 1944, as command posts, aid stations or observation points. American troops fought for weeks around Saint-Lô before taking the town in July 1944. Afterwards it was so badly destroyed that it became known as the capital of ruins.

On the tabletop

At 13 cm deep, the house has enough room to spread several infantry squads across two storeys. Use it as a company command post or as an objective that has to be held at the end of the game. As the floors lift off, you can always see who stands on which level. Place it at the end of a street and its broad bulk blocks the view of everything behind.
