A narrow Norman townhouse over three levels, together with a high yard wall with gate and a shed. Everything is UV-printed in colour, and both the levels and the ruined ground floor can be removed.

Background & context

On 7 June 1944 Bayeux became the first sizeable French town to be liberated, and it came through the war almost undamaged. Many other small towns in the region were less fortunate. Typical of these places were townhouses with a narrow front to the street and, behind it, a yard enclosed by a wall with a gate and outbuildings.

On the tabletop

House, wall and shed form a small property that you set up as a yard facing the street. Behind the high wall infantry is completely hidden and vehicles get hard cover, and you open or close the gate during the game. There is space between the buildings for a vehicle to drive through. The house itself holds a whole squad across three levels. Together it makes a strongpoint for games in Normandy 1944.
