Product details

Background & context

In June and July 1944 Allied air forces bombed Norman towns such as Caen and Saint-Lô to cut German supply routes and prepare the advance. Whole districts collapsed into rubble and many residents lost their homes. The piles of debris then slowed the Allied tanks as well, while German defenders found good positions among the ruins.

On the tabletop

The surviving walls of this large house give your infantry cover when the front line runs straight through a town. Place the ruin between intact buildings and the table shows a town that has already taken days of shelling. Troops that dig into the rubble force the enemy to clear it house by house. Use it on a Normandy 1944 table.
