    Product details

    Background & context

On Norman farms and in small towns, brick sheds stored carts, tools and fodder. In the summer of 1944 Allied fighter-bombers ruled the skies over Normandy, so German units tried to park their vehicles under roofs, trees or camouflage nets during daylight. A plain outbuilding like this could hide a tank or a lorry from aerial reconnaissance.

    On the tabletop

The shed holds a small vehicle or a medium-sized infantry squad. With the gate shut, whatever is inside stays out of sight; open it and the vehicle can drive out. The removable roof makes it easy to place models inside, and you decide during assembly whether the doors are open or closed. Set it up as an outbuilding on the edge of a farm or village in Normandy 1944.
