Product details

Background & context

By the 1930s even smaller towns in Normandy had garages with their own petrol pumps. Under the German occupation fuel for civilians was strictly rationed, and many vehicles were requisitioned or converted to run on wood gas. In the summer of 1944 such garages still mattered to both armies, as places to shelter vehicles and carry out makeshift repairs.

On the tabletop

Park a medium to large vehicle or a whole infantry squad inside the workshop. Because the doors also open and close mid-game, a vehicle can drive out of the bay straight into the action. The two pumps out front make the forecourt read clearly as a filling station. With a 15 x 18.5 cm footprint, the garage sits well at the edge of a village or on a crossroads.
