A three-storey café of the kind found on the main street of small Norman towns, UV-printed in full colour. Levels and ruined ground floor lift off, and an optional shop sign is included.

Background & context

In small Norman towns the café was a meeting place for farmers, traders and travellers, often with the owners' flat on the floors above. During the occupation German soldiers drank there too. In June 1944 many of these towns lay on the very roads both sides used to bring up troops, and they were fought over house by house. Afterwards little more than wall stumps was often left of the rows around the market square.

On the tabletop

At 19 cm tall, the café rises above lower buildings and gives observers on the upper floor a wide view along the street. A whole infantry squad fits inside, and you lift the levels off one after another. For street fighting in a battered town, swap in the ruined ground floor. Build shutters and doors open or closed, and fit the sign or leave it off.
