Auf dem ersten Chindit-Marsch 1943 gab es keinen Weg zurück: Wer nicht mehr gehen konnte, blieb in einem Dorf zurück oder fiel den Japanern in die Hände. Malaria, Ruhr und Fußinfektionen setzten dabei mehr Männer außer Gefecht als das Feuer des Gegners. Für die zweite Operation 1944 flogen leichte Maschinen die Verwundeten von Behelfspisten mitten im Dschungel aus - eine der ersten systematischen Luftrettungen des Krieges.

On the tabletop

Three wounded Chindits, supported and bandaged, serve as an objective for rescue scenarios in the Burmese jungle in Bolt Action. On the first Chindit expedition of 1943 there was hardly any way back for the wounded, while in 1944 light aircraft flew them out from makeshift strips. Place the figures where your column was hit and get them to a landing ground or the table edge. They can equally represent men who fight on despite their wounds.
