Background & context

Winter clothing was vital for survival on the Eastern Front, and from 1942 the main issue was the reversible parka, white on one side and camouflage print on the other. Whatever was to hand was procured, which is why grey, sand-coloured and captured Italian fabrics were worn in a motley mix. At the same time the share of automatic weapons in the squad rose, because firepower was meant to make up for dwindling manpower. As part of the National Socialist apparatus of violence, the Waffen-SS remains heavily burdened historically.

On the tabletop

The ten metal figures make a complete Waffen-SS squad in winter clothing for Bolt Action. An NCO and three men with assault rifles, a two-man light machine gun team and four riflemen are already set. Four Panzerfausts in the squad give you an answer to vehicles as well. The squad suits the Eastern Front, the Ardennes and the Italian winter, and the parkas can be painted grey, tan or in Italian camouflage.
